Travel Bug

Hello wonderful people of the internet!

I’m struck with the most magnificent and overtaking thoughts of travel this morning. London, Hawaii, Spain, Jamaica.
To be honest it’s all I’ve been thinking about these past few weeks (Trying to decide on a Honeymoon location), but this morning I’m craving Las Vegas. I’ve been to Vegas once before with my best friend in the whole wide world – before my fiancé and daughter were in the picture. Just us two gals on an adventure. It was the most fun I’ve ever had to be honest. Maybe it was the fact that I was just out of a HORRIBLE relationship; Or because it was just me and my bestie? Maybe it was the atmosphere of Vegas? Either way, this momma is craving some people watching, pools, shopping, and walking the strip. Did I mention food, cause my lordy, the food is AMAZING!
This time would be different to be sure, I’d be going with my hunny and lil Gem, but come on, how could you not have fun with two people whom you love dearly. Every day is an adventure with those two.

Vegas is so great for people watching, I could make it a full time job to be honest. I’d just sit there on the Strip or in the casinos and watch the characters go by. In my head I’m making up their life story. (You should try it sometime) I saw this middle age gentleman walking in front of the MGM Grand one day and he was dressed the most brightly colored, shiny, polyester suit I’ve ever seen. So a few things start going through my mind. I mean my brain starts working overtime to try and imagine who he is, and what he does for a living. Immediately I surmise that he must be a pimp out looking for his girls, cause I mean, seriously, who else would want to wear something that flashy out in public; except maybe a flamboyant acrobat with Cirque Du Soleil out on a lunch break. (ok, ok, my imagination runs wild) In reality, it was probably a 50 something man from Idaho going through a mid-life crisis. Going to Las Vegas to explore his sexuality and enjoying the anonymity that comes with Vegas.
“What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas “remember.

There is just so much to do in that Neon lit town, it can be overwhelming honestly. I’m not a gambler, so I don’t spend much time in the casinos, but they are great if you just want to sit in the lounge and have a drink and relax too. There are also attractions in every Hotel that are great for passing away a day or two. I went to the “Bodies” exhibit in the Luxor, the fine art museum in the Bellagio, and took a ride on the roller coaster at the New York New York,  just to name a few. All worth your time and money. (which wasn’t expensive to being with) Don’t forget all the Shows you can take in as well! There are hundreds! from magic and music, to strippers, comedians, and of course acrobats with Cirque! I saw the Cirque show KA! Absolutely stunning! Visually the most amazing thing I’ve even seen! To say I was in awe is an understatement. (Insert ooo’s and aww’s here)

The shopping was also quite rewarding. Yes, I said rewarding. Nothing more exciting than getting a great deal on a fabulous purse, or Blouse. I’m a shopping junkie, so I spent most of my time in Vegas shopping. So many cute little boutiques in the hotels; and the North outlet mall was mind-blowing! (Cue Heavenly Music) Can you imagine what I would buy for my daughter? Oh the possibilities are endless! Well, to the end of my wallet anyway. (Giggle)

So as you can see its quite the place, Las Vegas.
Hop, skip, and a jump away from the Grand Canyon and Hoover Damn. Full of Celebrities and attractions. Amazing weather, and the city doesn’t sleep!

Next time you’re thinking of a lil get-a-way, think of Vegas! Best bang for your buck! You won’t be disappointed! I Promise!

Ta-Ta for now pipsqueaks,

Gems mom out!
